Vanessa Porras was born in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mex. At age six, Porras and her family migrated to Colorado and made the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley their home. Porras graduated from Roaring Fork High School in 2012, and obtained her Associate of Arts degree in Spanish from Colorado Mountain College in 2014.
In the pursuit of a Masters degree in Art Therapy, Porras went on to obtained her BFA in Studio Art in 2018 from Colorado Mesa University. She works primarily as a printmaker, specializing in woodcuts and abstract ink drawings. She currently resides in Glenwood Springs, working as the Director of Communications for VOICES, a non-profit based out of Carbondale, helping amplify voices through the arts, as well as an Educator for the Aspen Art Museum.
